A Note From the Help Desk: Remote Monitoring and Management System Upgrades

CU*Answers Service Announcement: Remote Monitoring and Management System Patch and Server Upgrades

What Are We Doing?

We are applying the latest upgrades to the CU*Answers Network Services Remote Monitoring and Management System and migrating the system to new server hardware.

Why Are We Doing This?

The Remote Monitoring and Management System has become a key tool for oversight of client systems and networks. To expand on existing capabilities, we’ve made a major investment in the infrastructure needed to carry these services into the future.

When Are We Doing This?

The current system will be updated to the latest VSA Patch Thursday, May 7th at 12:00 AM ET (midnight).  Downtime will be less than 1 hour for the system patch.  We will then be cutting RMM services over to the new server hardware on Monday, May 11th starting at 12:00 AM ET (midnight).  While we expect the downtime to be brief for the server cut-over we are extending a maintenance window from 12 – 5 AM ET to give us time to validate, test, and rollback if necessary.

How Will This Impact You?

The Kaseya RMM System will be down on Thursday, May 7th for patching and then again on Monday, May 11th for server hardware cut-over.  Your Managed Agents will automatically start checking into the new servers when they are brought online.  During the maintenance window monitoring and alerting will be delayed however, there will be no gaps in data collection or reporting.

What Do You Need To Do?

No action is needed on the part of our clients.  We ask for those clients who utilize RMM to test their logon to the system after the servers have been brought online
